Hello again, gardening groupies!
It's only been a short time since our last update but mon Dieu has Rocket Salad taken off! We're now in the top 5 Kickstarter projects (technically the very top one, if you don't count Projects We Love. Kickstarter, why don't you love us?) and are on track to explore and discover all the remaining plants in Plantopia!
But it's still important to stop and smell the flowers, so let's do just that. The Eiffel Flower is one of the prettiest Baby flowers around (and there are many beautiful ones), and it knows it is. The Cacti try to peek their head over to catch a glimpse of this tall and elegant flower, causing them to grow taller. Un grand merci to all of our French backers - may your jardins always be in bloom! A special merci to Pascal de Ottawa who helped to translate our French rulebook, and always being there to test our game designs no matter how rudimentary they are. To all of our new French backers, enchanté et bienvenue à Plantopia!
Speaking of enchanting, what's that voice we hear?
Our team may be small, but Ryu is a world-class talent. Like Potato, she punches way above her weight. She not only is single-handedly responsible for all of the illustrations you see plus the look and feel of the game, but she composed all of the music on the video, helped stand in for Potato in the video above (Potato had a sore throat), and is a never-ending source of puns and enthusiasm. She is the fertilizer that keeps us all growing!
Ryu's creative streak and love for creating games stems from a deep-rooted passion for games, even as a child. Some of you may have seen this if you are on our social media channels:
Compare that image to this one, which was done by Ryu at the budding age of just ten! She was planted on this earth just to bring us to Plantopia.
Here's another look into her soil-filled mind - you may recognize some plants that you see in Plantopia, and some that aren't. You don't want to know how many pages there are!
Thanks once again for taking this trip through Plantopia with us, and taking this short detour behind the scenes. We are so grateful for your help in fertilizing this awesome game. We only have a day left, so let's shoot off!

TWO new species, TWO more days!

Dear nature aficionados,
Since our last update, we've been lucky enough to discover two new exciting plant species, so let's get right into it! The Dutch Champignon, like all our fungis and gals, is excellent company to have around, but don't expect it to pick up the tab. Baby plants like having the Champignon around so much that they get a boost just from its appearance in your garden!
We appreciate the Dutch support for our games very much and a game by our lead designer is in the running for one of the Dutch games of the year, so we're sincerely grateful for all of the love that we're receiving from there. Plantopia will give you the same thinkiness that you get from the games you know such as Overbooked, Ramen Ink and Animal Rescue, so please know that you're in store for a pleasant treat. And speaking of treats...
It's been an absolute treat to be able to make this card for all the passionate Spanish fans out there. A big shout out to Dan for not only doing the Spanish rulebook as well as setting us up with connections to the Spanish market, but also for his tireless work in the community. When we are able to travel again, Spain is definitely one of the places we would like to visit to play board games in. Our Spanish card is inspired by a person rather than an object, and its weather condition to grow is the same fiery passion that we can feel from our hot-blooded Spanish gamer friends. Que pasada!
We're really close to the end of our journey, but I think there's one last rocket boost left before we lift off from Plantopia. Let's enjoy the ride!

Sprouts du Deutsch? Final Stretch Goals REVEALED!

Dear plant-fans,
Our latest discovery is a really beautiful one. Just like the actual German Empress cactus from Earth, the German Empress on Plantopia is pretty in pink, just like the pink watering can in the icon that allows you to plant the German Empress AND combo in another equally empressive plant. Achtung! A huge DANKE from us here at Team Plantopia to our German backers - it is an honour to have your support and we promise that we've engineered the game to your exacting standards.
For the perceptive amongst you, we've revealed the rest of our FINAL stretch goals! A huge clue: these are all plants representing the top ten backer countries (at the time of creation). So if you're from one of these countries (check the Community tab if you're unsure), get your friends onboard so we can end with a fruitful bang with only 3 days remaining!

SNEAK PEEK. plus, French and Spanish rulebooks!

Dear horticultural enthusiasts,
Here's a glimpse of the future:
This is just our working prototype, but already you can see it's calling out to be played. And because of all of you, the final version will be even prettier! We're getting very close to the completion of this Kickstarter, and we are looking forward to putting our garden on your tables. The look of the game gets it to the table, and the game itself keeps it there for a long time.
Let's get ready for our last few days in Plantopia. If you haven't gotten your friends onboard, now's your chance! They'll thank you for the Garden City pack (which has since expanded from just Singapore to places all around the world), and you'll thank them for helping everyone unlock the final few stretch goals, which are as awesome as the ones before them!
Here's more reasons to share the game with your French and Spanish speaking amis et amigos:
Plantopia the game, just like the plants on Plantopia, are language-independent, and so all you need to play the game is a rulebook in your language. More rulebooks are coming, so watch this space! A huge thank you to all of you who stuck with us through these 3 weeks and 12 updates, we're about to end our Kickstarter journey very soon.

We interrupt our regularly scheduled horticultural updates to bring you a breaking shipping news announcement!
We've been working hard to reduce shipping rates for everyone and we are happy to announce that we have managed to reduce shipping rates for 4 important regions: UK, EU, Australia and Indonesia. We value and are consistently listening to all of the feedback that we have received, and we hope that these rates are reasonable as they not only reflect current realities but are also further subsidized by us. For the regions that are not reflected here, please trust that our 'Rest of the World' prices are also subsidized and fair. We do not make a single penny from the shipping rates, the converse is true.
In order to let you enjoy the savings in shipping costs, due to the complex workings of Kickstarter, we had to open up new reward tiers for these 4 regions. So, if you are a backer from one of these 4 regions, you will need to change your reward tier. To do so, please click on 'MANAGE YOUR PLEDGE', then 'CHANGE YOUR PLEDGE', and select the reward tier of the same type but with the description 'UK/EU/AUS/INDO ONLY'. Please note that since there are 3 prices of Gardening Kit, we have simplified the process by giving all UK/EU/AUS/INDO backers the best price available for Gardening Kit as a thank you for your patience while waiting for us to resolve this matter.
