Look up, what's that in the sky?
over 3 years ago – Tue, Sep 01, 2020 at 03:25:17 PM

In these confusing times we need a hero to lead the way, and perhaps that hero is SuperPotato! Maybe SuperPotato can help us decipher what a Spot UV is, and what even is a Finished Matte (I hear it makes the game box look super sleek and professional, just like SuperPotato).

SuperPotato has now landed on Plantopia, and now you can optionally add SuperPotato and his SuperFriends to your Plantopia games. Engage their superpowers to give your games extra replayability and strategy! For example, SuperMushroom doubles all growth effects from your Flowers, SuperBanana allows you to pay cards for bonus planting actions, and SuperPotato himself draws bonus cards whenever Trees are planted. Try all the superpowers for a different play experience every game! Or not; the game is totally fine without the great responsibility.

In our next update, we will have an exciting opportunity for all of our backers to show off their own punderful superpowers, so look out for it when it lands!

We're all going to Plantopia!
over 3 years ago – Tue, Sep 01, 2020 at 03:24:22 PM

To all our plant-loving friends:

THANK YOU from the bottom of our planter pots. We're so lucky to have you on our journey to Plantopia, and honestly, we didn't think Rocket Salad would get us here so fast. We are overwhelmed by your support, but our journey is just starting! There's still lots of Plantopia that we haven't explored yet, and many plants to unearth.

We'll let you know about the plants that we discover next in our Horticultural Update. In the meantime, stay warm and fuzzy in the knowledge that even though we can't really travel, we're all definitely going to Plantopia!

Living the American Tree-m!
over 3 years ago – Mon, Aug 31, 2020 at 09:39:55 AM

Dear nature-lovers,

In our most recent discovery, we've found that the the forest in Plantopia is almost like a mirror of the people that have been following us along on our expedition. For example, we've noticed that lots of backers hail from a place they call the United States, and this plant reminds us of something famous from that country.

Here's a fun fact! Even though the BearTree seems rude because it likes to stare at chew, it is actually very gentle-natured (it loves flowers), and when it is planted all flowers in your garden will grow immediately. Or, as some put it, flower power!

A huge thank you to all the United States backers that form a large part of our journey - feel free to share this image with friends you think may need a BearTree in their life, as BearTree is Kickstarter Exclusive and will not be readily available in your Flower Leaf Garden Stores.

Let's keep on journeying forward as there's more interesting vegetation up ahead!

1000 Backers! Let's have a Tabletop(ia) Party!
over 3 years ago – Mon, Aug 31, 2020 at 09:36:00 AM

Thanks so much for all your support, we know that a lot of you have been spreading the love and we see you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This is our very first Kickstarter, so whatever happens, you'll always be our first (thousand backers).

To celebrate, we would like to have a Tabletop(ia) Party with all of you!

The plan: to have 5 of you backers to join us at a Tabletopia playthrough of Plantopia hosted by Seb of AmateurBoardgamer, an excellent Singaporean board game reviewer. This will be streamed live, so EVERYONE can join in and comment! For those of you who want to know how the game is played, this is an excellent opportunity. The timing for this will be on Friday 4th September, 1030pm Singapore time (GMT+8). More information will be sent out throughout the course of the week.

As it's going to be difficult to get everyone onto the same table, we will go through a recruitment process the only way we know how - through plant puns.

If you're interested to join us (or if you just want to submit plant puns for fun), please message us (click on the Origame creator logo to do so) and let us know why you should be chosen. Plant puns are VERY encouraged.

Example 1: Choose me because I'm a smartyPLANTs!

Example 2: I'm the best choice because I've ROOTed for you since day 1!

Example 3: I've been stalking you for eternitree.

Ok, maybe please don't use example 3.

In any case, have fun thinking of your puns and we'll post the best ones that get sent to us (you may use a pseudonym if you want to remain anonymous). And we look forward to seeing all of you on Friday!

Is that a wild Symmetree I see?
over 3 years ago – Fri, Aug 28, 2020 at 01:16:39 AM

Hello again plant-lovers!

In this Horticultural Update it seems like we have encountered three new species of plants - the Symmetree, the mortal enemy of the Cattus, and, what even is this? There is no suitable nomenclature for this so we'll just call it as we see it. These plants may seem tame at first, but throw them into combos with other plants that love to provide magical leaves for Treevolved plants, and you'll suddenly see their potential for growth!

Keep watching, as I'm certain there are more undiscovered species out there!
